My spiritual journey


As a child I could never understand what I was experiencing or seeing. Being raised in an Italian Catholic household my visions were never to be spoken of. Sharing these visions or spirits was not received in good taste with my mother.

As a child starting at the age of 3 or so not that I remember my exact age, but knowing that I was very young. I would get visits from my deceased grandfather on my father’s side. I only vaguely remember him, since we only net twice. I would see his upper body, not in a grotesque way but as I would in pictures. He had no smile. He wore a turtle neck under a blazer. He would communicate with me via telepathy. I always wondered why his lips weren’t moving and he was talking to me. I later discovered through literature that this was a normal way for those that crossed over to communicate with us on this side. He was trying to tell my family that his tenth anniversary of his death was approaching and his remains needed to be exhumed and placed in the mausoleum. This was the Italian tradition in Italy where his body was buried. I would also get visits from recently deceased friends and family.

At the age of twelve is when I blocked my abilities to see these spirits. My grandfather was still visiting me and wanted to take me with him for company. As you could imagine I was scared and mentally decided to block this gift out. Fear can also bring on this blockage.

Now that I am older and have a better understanding of this gift, I am perusing on increasing my spiritual knowledge and hopefully help heal these spirits and myself. I decided to join different groups that also have members with like minded views and gifts. I recently took an Automatic writing class since hearing that this technique can help increase your spiritual abilities.

This is what happened:

We started by doing a guided meditation to open up or chakras. We were told to place our feet flat on the ground and imagine that our feet were being tied down with vines to a red jewel or rock. This was going to help us get grounded. We surrounded ourselves with white light and asked our angels to protect us. We asked that four angels be present in the four corners of the room. We asked that spirits from the light only to come through.
As we had our eyes shut we placed our booklets on our laps and used timed breathing techniques of breathing in for a count of four, holding your breath for a count of four and breathing out for a count of four. This was repeated until you felt your body relax fully. At this time we would then ask your spirit guide (if this was a first time for you) or your deceased one (if you had experience with this technique) a question. Meanwhile asking your guide to come close or near and giving them permission to use your arm, hand, pen and paper as a communication tool. You will not get results immediately. Mine took about fifteen minutes to start moving. You may receive words, letters, symbols or pictures. You may not be able to make the image out either. But with practice and persistence I now believe that this is a great tool to use to communicate with the other side.

Working in an office and typing all day, I never felt the muscles move individually as I did at my first attempt in using this technique. As I was writing, it was a slow process. I thought that my hand and pen would be going off the page. To my surprise, once out of the meditation state, noticed that my guide drew several hearts and what looked like outlines of people. My question was “will my family be ok?” The drawn image was no where near the edge of the paper. During my writing experience my face was having a tingling and burning sensation. I was told that this is a good indication that the spirit guide was very close to me and connecting. After the exercise my face was entirely red and burning. I had to wash my face to cool it down. I was also feeling nauseated.
I am no longer a skeptic with this technique. I truly believe that this works and will be using and practicing it to help me unblock my gifts. Try it sometime and it really works.
